Thanks to generous funding from the San Diego Foundation, NoSilence NoViolence has been able to continue critical support for survivors who have been impacted by COVID-19.
Job loss due to the pandemic has hit our clients particularly hard, as has increasingly stressful housing and legal status.
Grant funds have enabled us to provide thousands of dollars in support for much-needed items such as:
- Trauma therapy for survivors who have lost their health insurance coverage.
- Legal fees required to obtain restraining orders and handle divorces and custody battles.
- Transitioning families out of shelters and into their own rentals.
- Necessities like obtaining a safe mobile phone, children’s clothing, gas, etc.
A heartfelt thank-you from one of our survivors
“I never thought I would ever be able to live the life I’m starting to live now. I remember thinking I should just end my life and felt no one cared or would care. I couldn’t be where I am now — physically and emotionally —without NoSilence NoViolence and this incredible foundation’s support.
My life, but most importantly my son’s life, changed for the better once I was given financial help to get us moved into our own place. I felt like I was dreaming; still feels like a dream.
We don’t have much in the way of material things, but we now have a home full of love and not hate! One day I hope to return the favor by helping someone in need.
Thank you from my whole heart.”
