Opening a Path to a New Future

“NSNV empowered me by showing me the strength within myself, and the courage to face it all. Tears fill my eyes as I contemplate what would have happened to us if I hadn’t found you.

NSNV changed my life, which has transformed in the most positive way. My gratitude overflows for all this organization has done for me. Meeting Jessica, and sharing my story, was the first time I ever felt safe in sharing; I felt seen and heard and understood.

It is now my mission to hold a safe space and support other DV survivors.” – H.

H. learned about NoSilence NoViolence from a friend who had just signed up to volunteer with the organization. “I was at about the lowest point in my life; in full crisis mode, terrified and feeling like I was stuck at the bottom of a well with no light and no hope.” NSNV provided both.

H. and her young son received assistance to afford a security deposit, which enabled them to move out of the household shared with her abuser, and also paid for child care. H. joined one of our support groups, quickly finding connection with other survivors and a safe space. She also began her long journey with the courts, via a lawyer working with our organization at reduced rates, paid for by NSNV. When holiday time came around, NSNV provided gifts through its “Adopt A Family” program.

Thanks to the support provided by NSNV when she needed it most, H. and her son are happy and healthy today, living free from abuse. H. has begun a new career in the healing sciences.
