Recently, we received a call from a partner agency, One Safe Place. “D,” a young mother with two children, had recently left her abusive husband and found safety in a shelter. It was time for the family to leave the shelter, and they found an apartment but did not have the financial means to complete the move. D. had enough money to pay the rent, but not enough for the security deposit. Within one day of the call from One Safe Place, NSNV was able to fund the security deposit for this client, making it possible for the family to leave the shelter and move into a place of their own.
