I’m excited to announce that we are kicking off a quarterly newsletter to help keep you apprised of our efforts and how you can continue to help us in the important work of supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Our leadership team has been busy planning for 2021 by continuing to monitor local and national domestic violence statistics and forecasting local needs. While national hotline calls have decreased slightly, we anticipate continued high demand for crisis support as survivors remain more isolated at home with their abusers due to the pandemic.
We are ramping up our support this year by focusing attention on our volunteer corps. These dedicated angels are our hands and feet, connecting directly with those experiencing difficult situations. From answering crisis calls to helping to secure safe housing, these volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization and we are so grateful for them!
We just held a virtual 80’s-themed volunteer appreciation event and are planning another event for April. We are also hoping to have a new volunteer coordinator hired by then – click here to view the job posting.
And, as schools, businesses, faith centers and other community organizations begin opening back up, we will be looking for more opportunities to provide virtual or onsite domestic violence awareness presentations and training. Stay tuned!
On behalf of everyone here at No Silence No Violence, I’d like to thank you for your continued support of these important efforts in our local community.
