Did You Know…

April is child abuse awareness month. Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), like abuse, neglect, and witnessing domestic violence, can have lasting effects on mental well-being.

According to Monica Ditta, AMFT, ACEs create a state of toxic stress in children, essentially wiring their brains to perceive the world as a dangerous place. This can lead to difficulties with attention, impulse control, and emotional regulation, sometimes even mimicking ADHD. As adults, individuals with high ACE scores face increased risks of depression, substance abuse, and other mental health challenges.

But there’s hope! Positive, supportive relationships and early intervention can make a significant difference. NoSilence NoViolence is committed to providing resources and support to break the cycle of trauma and promote healing. Join us in making a difference – learn how you can get involved today!
